Overview
Designed booth faces, standees, and signage for XSEED Games’ exhibit at PAX East 2022, highlighting four games: DEADCRAFT (main title), Potionomics, Melon Journey, and Rune Factory 5.
Location: Boston, MA
Time Frame: 1 week
Challenges:
- Rune Factory 5 was the most recognizable title but needed to
complement rather than overshadow the focus on DEADCRAFT.
- Received accurate booth measurements only two days before the deadline,
revealing significant discrepancies in the DEADCRAFT booth layout.
- Limited assets required creative problem-solving to maintain visual impact.
Solution:
Prepared mockups using approximate measurements to anticipate adjustments. Redesigned the DEADCRAFT booth layout to ensure TV screens didn’t obscure key art elements. Used light colored visuals for Rune Factory 5 and a simple XSEED Games Store design using brand colors for the tall wall to balance attention across all highlighted titles.
Designed 9" x 12" controller sheets for console stations, providing users with a reference for game demos, and 18" x 24" signs announcing a giveaway and showcasing store items.
For the DEADCRAFT giveaway sign, I drew inspiration from the game’s UI, incorporating elements like the distorted text boxes with a halftone overlay to evoke the game's style.
For the XSEED STORE sign, I utilized the red from the company’s logo paired with a white background to create a clean, visually appealing presentation of the items on sale.
